Frank Meehan, who’s listed as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Horizons Ventures, has joined the board of the firm’s portfolio company Bitcasa. The company, a provider of storage across devices, has raised $8.5 million in total funding from Horizons, First Round Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. Horizons is the private investment arm of Li Ka-Shing. Meehan was on the board of SIRI (prior to Apple sale) and Spotify, and is currently on the boards of Trap.it, Fixmo, Tout, Summly, Tripboard and Magisto. Bitcasa also added Tony Lee, previously from Box, as vice president of engineering.

Company Adds Frank Meehan of Horizons Ventures to Its Board of Directors

Lee joins Bitcasa from Box, where he was vice president of backend engineering. Prior to Box, he spent eight years at Yahoo, where his last title was senior director of engineering.
Bitcasa also announced that Frank Meehan joined its board of directors. Meehan is part of Horizons Ventures, a Hong Kong-based investment firm focused on early-stage companies in the field of telecommunications, media and technology. He currently sits on the boards of Summly, Magisto, TOM Group, Fixmo, Affectiva, DoubleTwist and Desti, and has previously served on the boards of Siri and Spotify. He founded and served as the CEO of INQ Mobile and has held various positions at Hutchison Whampoa and Ericsson across Europe and Asia.
