Galson Laboratories Canada Inc., a subsidiary of New York’s Galson Laboratories, Inc., has bought the Occupational and Environmental Health Laboratory (OEHL) of Hamilton, Ontario. The financial terms of the transaction were not released. For Galson Laboratories, which specializes in occupational and industrial hygiene analysis and monitoring solutions, the OEHL acquisition marks its fifth major expansion since the company was acquired by US private equity firm Bolder Capital in June, 2010. The Mississauga, Ontario-based Galson Laboratories Canada was founded in 2012.

Acquires Occupational and Environmental Health Laboratories
Syracuse, N.Y. – Galson Laboratories, a world leader in industrial hygiene analysis and monitoring solutions, has expanded its presence in Ontario, Canada by acquiring Occupational and Environmental Health Labouratory (OEHL) in Hamilton. Galson Laboratories currently has an office in Mississauga, Ontario, which will service the OEHL clients.

Galson LaboratoriesCanada Inc. was formed in early 2012 with the opening of the Mississauga office, headed by Katrina Ahchong. This Canadian subsidiary of Galson Laboratories Inc., will provide occupational and industrial hygiene monitoring solutions and supplies for all of OEHL’s clients. The service centre offers a convenient shipping address, sampling supplies, rental of field instruments, technical consultation and support as well as Galson’s FreePumpLoan™ and FreeSamplingBadges™ programs.
According to Mr. Unangst, “By acquiring OEHL, Galson Laboratories Canada will be able to more quickly and more cost-effectively service clients across Canada by providing sampling supplies and all components of the popular FreePumpLoan™ program as well as Galson Hygiene Rental instruments to this growing Canadian customer base.”
This marks the fifth major expansion for Galson Laboratories since it entered into an agreement with Bolder Capital in June of 2010. The company acquired the labouratory business of White Environmental Consultants, Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska and Honolulu, Hawaii in June of 2012; opened an office in Mississauga, Ontario Canada in April 2012; added a new industrial hygiene rental instrument office in Houston, Texas in June of 2011; and last week purchased INALAB, an Industrial Hygiene labouratory in Honolulu, HI.
