Earlier this month, Bain Capital struck a deal with AMResorts, buying into properties from Mexico to the Dominican Republic to Jamaica. Bain has not been a regular in the luxury resort space, according to Thomson Reuters’ data. Terms weren’t publicized.

KSL Capital Partners LLC acquired Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, an Asheville, North Carolina- based owner and operator of hotel and resort, from Sammons Enterprises, in May 2012. KSL is a regular investor in the space, Thomson Reuters’ data shows.

Pegasus Capital Advisors LP of the US acquired Six Senses Resorts & Spas, a Bangkok-based owner and operator of hotels, in a leveraged buyout transaction. Terms were not disclosed.

Carlyle Group has been making a few buys in the space. In July, the PE firm invested in Lakeway Resort & Spa, in Austin, Texas. Other deals include the Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri de Cadiz in Spain, according to Thomson Reuters data.

Perseus Capital Partners Ltd, a unit of Perseus LLC, bought French hotel operator Hotel des Trois Vallees SAS, Hotel Fitz Roy SASU, for about $2 million from Lodges & Mountain Hotels in December 2012, according to Thomson Reuters data.
