NXT Capital Brings on Anurag Chandra as Managing Director

NXT Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm focused on middle-marketing and emerging growth companies,  has hired Anurag Chandra as a managing director, focused on opportunities in the tech sector. Chandra was most recently a managing partner at Gresham Partners in Atherton, Calif.

Based in NXT Capital’s Silicon Valley office, Chandra will focus on identifying investment opportunities in the technology sector and expanding NXT Capital’s presence in the West Coast entrepreneurial community.

Chandra was most recently Managing Partner of Atherton, California-based Gresham Partners, where he advised early stage to mid-market technology companies seeking operational scale. He helped secure equity and debt financings and worked with management to implement business development and sales acceleration strategies. While at Gresham, Chandra also advised several funds on fundraising, fund management, deal flow and risk management.

Prior to that, Chandra served as Managing Director at the Galleon Crossover Fund, where he focused on late-stage equity investments in pre-IPO companies, and at Lighthouse Capital Partners, where he led investments in more than 40 companies and played a key role in managing a $366 million early- and late-stage venture debt fund.

Chandra’s experience also includes executive positions in technology startups. He served as Vice President of Business and Corporate Development for Intraspect Software, Inc. and Vice President of Finance and Operations for NetDialog, Inc., both of which were acquired by public companies.

Selected as one of The San Jose Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2005, Chandra received a B.A. with honors in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University and a J.D. from Loyola Law School. Among other activities, he has been a lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and serves on the board of directors of the Menlo-Atherton Little League.
