Mobile safety tech company LiveSafe attracts $6.5 mln

LiveSafe has received $6.5 million in Series A funding. IAC led the round. In conjunction with the funding, Barry Diller, chairman and senior executive of IAC, will join LiveSafe’s board of directors. LiveSafe, which is also backed by CIT GAP Funds, is a provider of solutions for individuals to make themselves and their communities safer.

ARLINGTON, Va., Mar 25, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) — LiveSafe, a mobile safety technology company ( www.livesafemobile.com ), today announced $6.5 million in Series A financing led by IAC (NASDAQ:IACI). Barry Diller, Chairman and Senior Executive, IAC, will join the Board of Directors of the company.
LiveSafe is a two-way communication platform that crowd-sources personal safety and leverages the proliferation of smartphones to help prevent and respond to dangerous threats to individuals and the general public.
