New York — May 7, 2014 — Fever, the event discovery app for iPhone and Android, announces today that it has raised $3 million in seed funding from investors and advisors that include (among others), Jeff Pulver (early investor in Twitter, Foursquare), Bernardo Hernandez (CEO at Flickr, Zagat, advisor for Google Ventures), Gary Shainberg (BT) and industry influencers such as Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid or 18 time Grammy Award winner, Alejandro Sanz. The app, which ties in social discovery to allow its users to follow friends, local influencers and tastemakers, is also available today in New York City.
Fever disrupts the mobile event space by introducing a meaningful social experience that is woven into the discovery of local events. Upon opening the app, users are prompted with hashtags to pick their top three interests to build a user profile. The app then generates a curated list of events based on the users’ activity as well as their interaction with the Fever community, filtered from hundreds of options and the city’s most popular venues.
By allowing individuals to make decisions based off of their friends’ activity as well as select influencers — a feature unique to Fever — people can see who has actually purchased tickets and plan on attending events via real-time updates. The app leverages both social and performance elements by combining a collaborative tool with a curated event feed for maximum effect.

Since Fever’s launch in Europe six months ago, the app has been used more than 500,000 times by its nearly 45,000 active users. To date, more than 6,000 events have been curated in the platform and users have attended events more than 30,000 times, showing a particularly high level of engagement.
