Madison Parker Capital backs Village Power Finance

Madison Parker Capital has backed Village Power Finance, a solar asset developer and manager. This is the first investment by Madison Parker Capital in the financial services space.

PRESS RELEASE

Madison Parker Capital, a Menlo Park, CA based venture capital and private equity firm, is proud to announce an investment in Village Power Finance, a nationally focused solar asset developer and manager. This marks the first investment by Madison Parker Capital in the financial services space, and it seeks to capitalize on several global trends, including an increasing demand for renewable energy and the increasing interest among financial institutions and local community members for renewable energy assets.

Village Power creates “green assets” for local schools, religious institutions and other community based organizations. The Company coordinates the financing, installation, monitoring and maintenance of solar panels on a community property. As a result, these organizations pay for electricity at rates lower than their existing utility charges, which frees up capital not generally available for more important organizational endeavors. These assets provide stable, long-term returns for investors – both from within and outside the community, while enabling triple bottom line benefits.

Village Power’s innovation in the renewable sector comes at a time when renewable energy assets are gaining scale and credibility among mainstream investors. The Village Power platform enables a fully comprehensive system for the creation and management of these solar assets, streamlining the process and reducing both transactional and operational risk for community members who want to support their local community organization.

“Falling prices for renewable energy, combined with increasing energy prices and growing interest in green assets make for a strong growth market for Village Power services,” says Brent Brown, Managing Partner of Madison Parker Capital. Ty Jagerson, CEO of Village Power, added, “Growing interest among institutional investors for divesting from hydrocarbon-based energy is further pushing the demand for assets that are both green and cash generating.”

Madison Parker Capital continues to seek to invest in companies that have a compelling proposition, proven economics, significant growth potential and experienced management teams.
