The round was led by Foundry Group, with participation from True Ventures, SoftTech VC, CrunchFund and Bullpen Capital. about.me, co-founded by Tony Conrad and Ryan Freitas, will use the new funding to expand to new verticals and build on its existing product.
“In the past few years, we have seen about.me users discover and connect with other like-minded individuals who they might not have encountered on other social networks,” said Conrad, co-founder and CEO of about.me. “Now our goal is to build on that existing experience by adding features that will give our users something more tangible to work with and a reason to come back and regularly interact with their about.me page. We look forward to being a part of about.me’s growth as the company evolves and expands into new markets.”
