PRESS RELEASE

10th July 2014. Jobandtalent, the app and web platform that uses role matching technology to help candidates find their dream job, is today announcing a successful Series A funding round of $14M, led by Qualitas Equity Partners, Kibo Ventures, FJME Ventures and business angels Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz and Nicolas Luca de Tena.

The company has developed sophisticated language and career path analysis technology, plus a machine learning process, to help people find their dream job. When a new user registers on jobandtalent, they are asked to upload their professional profile, which is then used to match them with ideal job openings. Once the highly accurate technology matches a job listing with a candidate, a notification is automatically sent to the jobseeker to alert them to the vacancy. This takes the hard work out of hunting for a job for the candidate and helps companies find the perfect hire.

Felipe Navio, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of jobandtalent, said: “The jobs market has traditionally relied on professionals spending their time searching for roles, which is sometimes a long and difficult process. We wanted to change this completely, so jobandtalent has been created to deliver ideal vacancies direct to the candidate, based on their professional details. This both saves time and increases the chances of finding a great match, which is a far more effective experience for both parties.”

Juan Urdiales, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of jobandtalent, commented: “We have a very active user base, with over 1.75 million registered candidates and an average monthly growth of 200,000 users. Furthermore, we are seeing around 50% continued engagement from existing users of our mobile platform, which is extremely high by industry standards. Over 2.5 million jobs are also posted on jobandtalent every month, from various companies including Amazon, Deloitte, G4S and Kelloggs – this shows that the demand for talent is there and encourages further engagement from users.”

The company is also announcing that Felix Ruiz, founder of Tuenti.com (which was sold to Telefonica for $100M) has recently joined the jobandtalent management team, after being an Angel Investor and board member for the last two years. As well as this, Bill Boorman, the Founder of #tru events, has joined the company’s advisory board.

Bill Boorman said: “Having worked in this industry for over 30 years, I’ve always been interested in different approaches to job seeking and networking but I’m only now seeing real change and disruption in the field of recruitment, which is really exciting. This is why I’ve joined the advisory board, as I believe jobandtalent’s future plans align perfectly with society’s adoption of mobile technology, data driven experiences and the need to be connected at all times.”

The company’s recent investment will be used to help jobandtalent achieve further growth within Europe and Latin America, as well as for expansion into the U.S market. In 2013, jobandtalent closed a €2.5 million funding round, led by Spanish investors, including Kibo Ventures, Felix Ruiz and existing shareholder Alfonso Villanueva. Prior to this, jobandtalent secured €1.1 million in a funding round led by angel investors.
