Octopus Leads TrialReach Funding

Octopus has led a 2 million pound ($3.1 million) investment round into TrialReach, an online platform that is transforming clinical trials by connecting patients with healthcare companies and research organisations to make new treatments available more quickly and efficiently. Octopus is investing alongside existing investors Amadeus Capital Partners, which first invested in TrialReach in 2011.

Amadeus’ Aepona Acquired by Intel

Cloud-based network solutions company, Aepona, whose largest venture investor is Amadeus Capital Partners, has been acquired by Intel. Details of the transaction have not been divulged.

European technology investor Amadeus Capital Partners has joined Montezemolo & Partners as an investor in Bellco. The business is a developer of equipment for haemo-dialysis used in kidney disease and is based in Mirandola, Italy.

European technology investors, Amadeus Capital Partners and Archimedia Investments, have invested 1.6 million pounds ($2.5 million) in web-based medical practice management business, Qinec. Legal advisers on the funding were Osborne Clarke for Amadeus, Chadbourne & Parke for Archimedia, and Cannings Connolly for Qinec.

GlySure Inks $10.9M Series C

GlySure Ltd., a U.K.-based developer of in-hospital continuous blood glucose monitoring systems, has raised $10.9 million in fresh capital. The company will use the Series C round, led by Morningside Venture, to complete clinical trials and seek regulatory approval. Existing shareholders Amadeus Capital Partners, Chester Investments and Delta Partners also participated in the round. GlySure has raised a total of $19.5 million in venture backing.

Dr. Hermann Hauser, co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners, has joined the board of Tobbi Technology. Arne Almerfors, who was most recently CEO of Flir Systems Sweden, was name Tobbi’s chairman of the board. Tobbi, of Sweden, provides eye tracking and eye control technology.
