Venture-backed companies mature enough to sell shares to the public haven’t been rushing the door. Only 10 companies have floated shares since the start of May. But those that have enjoy pretty good results.

The market for venture-backed IPOs has been pretty dead so far this year. But based on new filing activity, it looks like there’s some optimism things will improve. At least six venture-backed companies have filed to go public since the start of the year, in sectors ranging from enterprise software to semiconductors to car rentals. [...]

Audience, a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of voice processing solutions enabled with noise suppression, has raised $15 million in Series E funding. Return backers included New Enterprise Associates, Tallwood Venture Capital, Vulcan Capital and VentureTech Alliance. The company has now raised $75 million.
