Bacchus Capital Invests in Maritime Wine

Bacchus Capital Management said Wednesday it provided growth capital to Maritime Wine Trading Collective. Financial terms were not announced. Concurrent with the deal, Maritime is buying Nine North Brands. San Francisco-based Maritime Wine is a boutique wine import, production, and distribution company while Nine North is a collection of handcrafted Napa and North Coast red wines.

Bacchus Capital Management has invested in Sbragia Family Vineyards, a California (Dry Creek Vaelly) winemaker. Financial terms weren’t announced. Bacchus is a San Francisco PE firm that invests in the wine industry. Sam Bronfman II, Peter S. Kaufman and Henry F. Owsley co-founded Bacchus in 2007. Bronfman is the former chairman of Diageo Global Wines and the ex-president of Seagram Chateau and Estate Wines.

Bacchus Capital Backs Wine by Joe

San Francisco-based investment firm Bacchus Capital Management has put an undisclosed amount of growth and refinancing capital to Wine by Joe, a wine producer in Oregon. No terms of the deal were released. Formed in 2007, Bacchus Capital Management is focused on providing strategic capital and making equity investments in United States wineries and wine businesses.
