Mithril leads Series C round for train travel platform SilverRail

SilverRail said Monday that it has closed $40 million in Series C funding. Mithril Capital Management led the round with participation from return backers Canaan Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and Brook Ventures. In addition to the funding, Ajay Royan, co-founder of Mithril, will join SilverRail’s board of directors. SilverRail is a train travel platform.

Canaan Partners leads Series B round for crowdfunding platform CircleUp

Equity-based crowdfunding platform CircleUp said Wednesday that it has raised $14 million in Series B funding. Canaan Partners led the round with participation from Google Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Maveron and Rose Park Advisors. According to the firm, the capital infusion will be used for product and data analytics. In addition to the funding, Dan Ciporin of Canaan will join CircleUp’s board.

Kabam, which is backed by Canaan Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Pinnacle Ventures, has acquired Phoenix Age. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in San Francisco, Phoenix Age is a game studio.

The RealReal, a San Francisco-based luxury resale site, has raised a $14 million Series B round led by InterWest Partners. The round also included existing investors Canaan Partners, e.ventures, Greycroft Partners, Novel TMT Ventures, Panarea Capital and individual investors Suzy Welch and Sukhinder Singh Cassidy.
