Chequed.com Secures Funds Led by Cayuga Venture Fund

Chequed.com, a provider of cloud-based predictive talent selection solutions, has secured $2 million in funding in a round led by Cayuga Venture Fund, a New York-based technology and high-growth investment firm. This second round also includes participation from existing private and public investors, including Rand Capital, based in Buffalo, NY.

According to a new SEC filing, Innovate NY — a New York state -focused fund of funds backed by federal money — has raised a fresh $45.3 million and could raise an “indefinite” amount more.

BinOptics Closes $13.3M

Ithaca-based BinOptics Corp., a maker of lasers and monolithically integrated optoelectronic components, has raised $13.3 million in new funding. New investors Advantage Capital Partners, Enhanced Capital Partners, Gefinor Ventures, Onondaga Venture Capital Fund and Rand Capital participated in the round, as did existing shareholders ArrowPath Venture Partners, Cayuga Venture Fund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and FA Technology Ventures. The new funding will go toward development and expansion efforts.
