ChaCha, a human-powered question and answer service, has defied naysayers with its ability to continue securing funding for 6+ years. Today, it’s announcing a new round of $14 million.

ChaCha secured $3 million in additional financing. Qualcomm Ventures of San Diego, Calif.,is a new investor. It provided $900,000 of the amount raised. The latest amount collected extends the round previously led VantagePoint Venture Partners and Rho Ventures in October 2010. ChaCha is a real-time answers service that has nearly 32 million unique users monthly. It has raised a total of about $75 million.

ChaCha, the Indianapolis free, real-time answers service, has closed a $20 million round of financing, according to the company. The funding came from VantagePoint Venture Partners and Rho Ventures.

ChaCha Search Inc., a Carmel, Ind.-based search startup, has raised $12 million in Series C funding. peHUB had previously reported that it had secured $11 million of a $30 million-targeted round, based on a regulatory filing. No new shareholders were disclosed. The company had previously raised around $14 million from Morton Meyerson, Bezos Expeditions, Rod Canion (founding CEO of Compaq) and Jack Gill (partner at Maven Ventures). It also had secured a $2 million grant from 21st Century Technology Fund.

In related news, ChaCha said that it would “streamline and restructure itself to preserve cash.” VentureWire reports that this means 25 of the company’s 81 employees were let go.
