Shasta Ventures is strengthening its enterprise practice by bring in Jayaram Bhat as an entrepreneur in residence and Issac Roth as a venture advisor. Both have worked with the firm before. Bhat was CEO of Shasta-funded Zenprise, acquired by Citrix Systems, and Roth co-founded Makara, which Red Hat acquired.

Citrix Startup Accelerator said it invested $250,000 in AppEnsure Inc. The Citrix Startup Accelerator provides seed funding and office space to select startups from around the world. Earlier this year, AppEnsure, which is developing an application performance management platform, was selected by venture capitalists and Citrix leaders to be the recipient of a $100,000 Citrix investment during the Startup.Synergy Challenge.

Baseline Ventures has led a $1.4 million round for San Francisco-based cloud application services company Iron.io. Ignition Partners, Cloud Capital Partners, Citrix Systems, and individual investors Jonathan Siegel, Matt Ocko, Jared Kopf and Lance White also participated in the round. As a result, Steve Anderson, founder of Baseline Ventures, will join Iron.io’s board. The money will go toward expanding product development and customer acquisition.

BlueStacks has secured funding from AMD, Citrix Systems and other investors. In addition to the strategic investors, current investors also participated in the round, bringing the total investment in BlueStacks to $14M. BlueStacks will use the new financing to accelerate product development and support its fast-growing community of users.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Cotendo has closed on $17 million in financing, adding strategic investors Citrix Systems and Juniper Networks’ Junos Innovation Fund to its list of backers. Existing shareholders Sequoia, Benchmark and Tenaya Capital also contributed to the round. The money will help fuel continued development of the company’s cloud-based acceleration technologies, Cotendo said in a statement.
