The round was jointly led by existing Canadian and US investors Bain Capital Ventures, BDC Venture Capital, Egan-Managed Capital and JMI Equity. Software testing company uTest has closed a $17 million Series D round led by QuestMark Partners, with participation from previous Scale Venture Partners, Longworth Venture Partners, Egan-Managed Capital and Mesco Ltd., the company announced Monday. uTest, based in Boston, has raised a total of $37 million since it was formed in 2007.

Currensee, an alternative investment service designed to give investors access to the world currency markets, has raised $4 million in Series C financing. North Bridge Venture Partners, Egan-Managed Capital and Vernon & Park Capital provided the financing, which brings Currensee’s total raised to $16.8 million. The latest round of funding will be used to develop new decision-making, collaboration and portfolio management tools for investors, and to fortify the Currensee technology infrastructure including data center expansion, the company said.
Envista Corp. has raised $4.1 million from a group of seven investors including Hanover, N.H.-based Borealis Ventures; Boston-based Egan Managed Capital; and Providence, R.I.-based Point Judith Capital. Based in Beverly, Mass., Envista develops Web-based software designed to provide real-time information to help municipalities better manage utility projects, traffic, community events, and other projects. The company will continue fundraising efforts and aims to close its current round at $7.6 million.
