Kristiaan Nieuwenburg has joined EQT Partners as partner at EQT Equity and regional head for Benelux. Nieuwenburg comes from Dutch e-commerce firm RFS Holland Holding where he was chief financial officer.

Danske Bank named its chairman, Eivind Kolding, the group’s new chief executive to restore the bank’s leading position after struggling through the financial crisis, writes Reuters. EQT has sold Cimbria to private equity fund Axcel, exiting the company, a maker of equipment for handling and processing of grain and seed, four years after it bought it. Financial terms of the deal were not released. The acquisition is expected to close in August. EQT Opportunity took a majority stake in Cimbria in 2007.

Private equity firms EQT and Affinity are in a bidding war for Malaysian synthetic rubber glove manufacturer YTY Group, Reuters reported. The deal for YTY Group could reach as high as $500 million, Reuters said.

Swedish private equity group EQT has acquired Taiwanese TV channel operator Gala TV, Reuters reported. EQT’s Greater China II fund bought the company with its chief executive, Lin Poa-Chuan, as co-investor, Reuters said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EQT Credit Limited has closed on 350 million euro ($463.4 million) for its EQT Credit fund. The fund, advised by Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners’ credit team, will focus on investing in the debt of operationally sound, but over-leveraged mid-sized European companies.

EQT Partners has sold Aleris Holding to Investor AB for SEK 4.4 billion. EQT Partners, a private equity firm, said Aleris was sold through an auction process and received strong interest from both trade and financial buyers. Aleris is a pan-Scandinavian healthcare service operator. Investor AB, an industrial holding company, is part of the Wallenberg family.
