MessageMe Raises $10M From Greylock, Others

MessageMe said it raised $10 million in a deal led by Greylock Partners. The round was joined by previous investors, the company said in a blog post. The company received a seed investment in March from True Ventures, First Round Capital, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Resolut.vc, Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock and The Social+Capital Partnership. The company had previously received angel money.

TrilogyGrowth Leads $11M Round for Office Products E-Tailer Poppin

New York-based Poppin Inc., an online retailer offering innovative office products, has raised US$11.1 million in a Series B financing round led by Canadian early stage venture capital firm TrilogyGrowth. Existing investors, including Shasta Ventures, First Round Capital and company founder J. Christopher Burch, also participated in the deal. TrilogyGrowth Managing Partner Joel Silver, who formerly served as president of Indigo Books & Music, will join Poppin’s board of directors.

First Round Expands Dorm Room Fund To Silicon Valley

First Round Capital has expanded its Dorm Room Fund to the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay area. The fund will have $500,000 in capital and a 10-student investment team, according to a tweet from Josh Kopelman, First Round partner and founder.

The funding included participation from individual investors David Tisch, Gary Vaynerchuk, as well as betaworks, Collaborative Fund, MESA+, Quotidian Ventures and Undercurrent.
