Matt Turck has joined FirstMark Capital as a managing director. Turck founded Bloomberg Ventures.

Canadian venture capital firm Vanedge Capital has led a US$5 million Series B financing of San Francisco-based Playnomics Inc., a provider of data science and predictive analytics for mobile, social and browser games. Joining in the round were existing investors in the company FirstMark Capital and XSeed Capital. Tony Lam, Principal of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based Vanedge, has also joined Playnomics’ Board of Directors.

Aereo has closed on a $38 million Series B round of financing, led by existing investors IAC and Highland Capital Partners. Previous investors from Aereo’s Series A funding round, including FirstMark Capital, First Round Capital, High Line Venture Partners, and select individuals, also participated.

Conductor, a search engine optimization technology business, has secured $20 million in Series C financing led by Investor Growth Capital. Existing investors FirstMark Capital and Matrix Partners also participated in the round.
