Cendana Capital announced the final close of a pair of seed-based fund of funds on Friday. The institutional seed investor now has raised $88.2 million and taken a position with nine investment partnerships. The final close announced Friday in a document filed with Securities and Exchange Commission was on $28.2 million raised by Cendana Capital L.P.

Forerunner Ventures said it raised an institutionally backed $40 million seed fund. Kiwi Crate, whose subscription-based service offers hands-on activities for kids, has raised $5 million in Series A financing. Battery Ventures led a $5 million A round in STELLAService, the customer service ratings provider for online retailers. DFJ Gotham Ventures and RRE Ventures joined in on the investment as well; and new investors Forerunner Ventures also jumped in on the deal.
