VC-backed OpenDNS hires CFO

OpenDNS has hired Burt W. Podbere as chief financial officer. Previously, Podbere worked at Net Optics where he served as CFO. Based in San Francisco, OpenDNS is a provider of internet security solutions. Its backers include Greylock Partners, Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Glynn Capital, Cisco, Evolution Capital, Lumia Capital, Mohr Davidow Ventures and Northgate Capital.

Internet security provider OpenDNS bags $35 mln

OpenDNS said Thursday that it has secured $35 million in funding. The investors were Greylock Partners, Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Glynn Capital, Cisco, Evolution Capital, Lumia Capital, Mohr Davidow Ventures and Northgate Capital. Based in San Francisco, OpenDNS is a provider of internet security solutions.

Viking Global Investors leads Series B round for Birchbox

Birchbox said Monday that it has raised $60 million in Series B funding. Viking Global Investors led the round with participation from previous backers that included First Round Capital, Accel Partners, Aspect Partners, Glynn Capital, Comcast Ventures, Sam Lessin, Consigliere Brand Capital, Slow Ventures, Red Swan Ventures and TriplePoint Venture Growth BDC Corp. Medical Records Manager Practice Fusion Dials Up $34M Round

Practice Fusion, which operates an electronic medical record platform for 150,000 medical providers, has raised a $34 million Series C round of funding led by Artis Ventures. Other investors in the round include Felicis Ventures, Band of Angels, Founders Fund, Morgenthaler Ventures and SV Angel. among other institutional and individual investors. The company says it has now raised $64 million in total funding since it was launched in 2007.
