Chinese group-buying website Lashou.com is planning an initial public offering in the United States, Bloomberg reports, but has yet to set a timeline. The company has raised $110 million from investors including GSR Ventures, and has a valuation of roughly $1.1 billion, Reuters reports. GSR Ventures, the early-stage venture capital fund, has closed a new $350 million fund to invest in China. The firm’s fourth fund under management, the most recent vehicle brings past $1.0 billion GSR’s assets under management. LPs in GSR’s fund include Horsley Bridge Partners; the VC primarily pursues early-stage technology investments.

Baidu Invests $306M for Chinese Travel Site Qunar–CORRECTED

Baidu has paid $306 million to buy Chinese travel site Qunar, the company announced Friday. Formed in 2005, Qunar sealed at least $25 million from investors including GSR Ventures, Mayfield Fund, Tenaya Capital and GGV Capital. The company’s site provides real-time searches for air and rail tickets, hotels, and tour packages. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2011.
