iPad travel guide Desti has added $1 million in funding to its seed round from previous investors, including Carmel, SRI International and Horizon Ventures. The latest funding comes as an extension of the company’s initial seed raise in October 2011, bringing Desti’s total funding to $2.55 million.

HowDo said it raised seed funding in a deal led by Wellington Partners and joined by Horizon Ventures, which manages the private venture investments of Li Ka-shing, and angel Peter Read. No financial details were disclosed. The company is developing an instructional app for skills sharing.

Web searching facility Trapit has closed a $6.2 million Series A round of venture funding led by Horizon Ventures of Hong Kong. Social traffic and navigation company Waze reeled in $30 million in funding from investors including Horizon Ventures Hong Kong, KPCB’s Digital Growth Fund and the VC’s iFund, as well. Backing will be used to boost the app’s growth in China.
