DIYSEO Secures Funding and Rebrands

DIYSEO has raised more than $2 million in a second round of venture capital funding and has rebranded the company to UpCity. The funding includes new investors i2a Fund and Firestarter Fund, both based in Chicago; and RIME Communications Capital of New York. Also included were existing investors Daylight Partners and Harris Preston & Partners, both based in Austin, Texas; and UpCity co-founders Patrick Gavin and Andy Hagans.

MediaMath Acquires Tap.me

MediaMath said it bought mobile in-game ad platform Tap.Me. No terms were not disclosed. Tap.Me had raised more than $4M from investors including Hyde Park Venture Partners, I2A Fund, Hyde Park Angels and Great Oaks Venture Capital.

BrightTag Adds $5M

BrightTag Inc., maker of a digital marketing platform, has added $5 million in fresh capital from New World Ventures, TomorrowVentures, EPIC Ventures and the I2A Fund. The company has raised a total of $8 million to date. The newest infusion will help Chicago-based BrightTag bolster its sales efforts.

Rockfish Brand Ventures Backs Tap.Me

Mobile advertising company Tap.Me has closed on an undisclosed amount of venture financing led by Rockfish Brand Ventures, a Rogers, Arkansas-based investor. Rockfish joins existing shareholders including David Cohen’s Bullet Time Ventures, the i2A Fund and Hyde Park Angels. Tap.Me is based in Chicago.

Ifbyphone Inks $8M Series B

Ifbyphone has raised $8 million in Series B financing from Apex Venture Partners, Origin Ventures, Spring Mill Ventures, Second Century Ventures and the i2A Fund. Ifbyphone has raised $16 million in total venture funding to date. Skokie, Illinois-based Ifbyphone provides voice applications for enterprise customers.
