Big data software maker Splunk floated shares at $17 this morning, and they are presently trading at $32.01, an 88.3% rise. The San Francisco company priced them above its anticipated $11 to $13 range and raised $229.5 million.

Infoblox Buys Netcordia

Infoblox, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based provider of realt-time network infrastructure solutions, has acquired Netcordia Inc., an Annapolis, Md.-based provider of network change and configuration management solutions. No financial terms were disclosed.

Infoblox has raised over $75 million in VC funding from Focus Ventures, Chess Ventures, Duchossois Technology Partners, Sequoia Capital, Open Prairie Ventures and Tenaya Capital. Netcordia has raised over $17 million from firms that include Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Trinity Ventures.
