Cloud Networking Startup Pertino Secures $20M

Pertino, which develops software for managing wide area networks over the cloud, has raised $20 million in a Series B round led by new investor Jafco Ventures, with Norwest Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participating. Pertino raised nearly $9 million in a Series A deal from Norwest and Lightspeed in April 2012.

California-based gift card exchange Plastic Jungle received a strategic investment from Citi Ventures, the unit of listed financial services firm Citigroup. Specifics of the transaction were not publicized. Plastic Jungle, in prior rounds, has taken on more than $20 million from investors including Shasta Ventures, First Round Capital, Harrison Metal Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Bay Partners and Jafco Ventures.

Bill.com Adds $15.5M Series D

Bill payment and online invoicing company Bill.com has added $15.5 million in Series D financing. New investor Financial Partners Fund, a unit of Citi Capital Advisors, participated in the round, as did existing investors DCM, Emergence Capital Partners, August Capital, Jafco Ventures and Total Technology Ventures. The company is based in Palo Alto, Calif., and will use the money to expand operations, continue product development and for marketing efforts.

Asahi Kasei Pharma Corp., a Tokyo-based biopharmaceutical company, has acquired Artisan Pharma for an undisclosed amount.
