J.F. Lehman & Co. said Thursday that David Gorton has joined as a VP. Also, Michael Friedman and William Hanenberg were promoted to senior associate at J.F. Lehman, while David Thomas, James Michaud and David Silberstein were named associates. Gorton joined J.F. Lehman this month from Tailwind Capital.

J.F. Lehman & Co. has sold Atlantic Intertial Systems to Goodrich Corp. for approximately $375 million in cash. AIS is a Cheshire, Conn.-based provider of guidance, stabilization and navigation products and systems for the global defense market. It was acquired by J.F. Lehman from BAE Systems in August 2007, in a deal that included $145 million of equity.

J.F. Lehman & Co. has completed its acquisition of marine services business Drew Marine from Ashland Inc. (NYSE: ASH). The deal was valued at approximately $120 million. An earlier LBO Wire report said that the transaction would include more than $70 million in debt financing, with CIT and BNP Paribas arranging senior debt, and Babson Capital arranging around $20 million in mezzanine notes.
