Social Venture Fund Provides Seed Funding to Mytonomy

Social Venture Fund, a student-led, Ann Arbor, Michigan-based “impact investing” fund that’s closely affiliated with the University of Michigan, has participated in a seed-stage financing for Mytonomy, a video storytelling platform for college and career advising. Other investors include NewSchools Venture Fund and Kapor Capital. Social Venture Fund makes investments of up to $100,000. Terms of the Mytonomy deal were not disclosed. Two-year-old Mytonomy is based in Washington, D.C.

Entrepreneur and investor Ross Fubini, who’s been a partner with seed-stage investor Kapor Capital for the past year, has joined Canaan Partners as a venture partner. Fubini, who’s listed as an advisor to Palantir Technologies, led investments in Piazza, CitrusLane, GingerIO, KarmaLoop, ElationEMR, Omada Health and HealthLoop and others while at Kapor Capital.

Morgenthaler Leads $5M for Fundly

Fundly, a cloud-based social fundraising platform for non-profits, has raised $5 million in financing led by Morgenthaler Ventures. Seed investors Kapor Capital, Correlation Ventures, Seraph Group, and Accelerator Ventures also participated in the round. As a result of the round, Morgenthaler’s Mark Goines will join the Fundly board. Fundly is based in Palo Alto, Calif.

Piazza Reels in $1.5M
