Kohlberg & Company buys The Home Décor Companies

Linsalata Capital Partners said Monday that it sold The Home Décor Companies to Nielsen Bainbridge Group, a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company. Financial terms weren’t announced. Southaven, Miss.-based Home Décor provides decorative home accessories to retailers throughout North America.


Solera inks buy of Pittsburgh Glass Works unit

Pittsburgh Glass Works, which is backed by Kohlberg & Company, has agreed to sell its Insurance & Services business unit (“I&S”) to Solera Holdings. Financial terms weren’t announced. I&S consists of LYNX Services, GTS Services, and GLAXIS. The unit provides services such as clams management, call center and software for glass retailers. Goldman Sachs acted as financial advisor to PGW.


Golden Gate Capital agrees to buy Phillips-Medisize Corp

Golden Gate Capital has agreed to acquire Phillips-Medisize Corp. from Kohlberg & Company. No financial terms were disclosed. Goldman Sachs advised Phillips-Medisize on the transaction while Robert W Baird advised Golden Gate Capital. Headquartered in Hudson, Wisconsin, Phillips-Medisize is a provider of design and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic and specialty commercial sectors.


PE-backed Stanadyne to sell filtration business to Clarcor for about $325 mln

Stanadyne, which is backed by Kohlberg & Company, has agreed to sell its filtration business to Clarcor for approximately $325 million. No financial terms were disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to be completed in early May. Robert W. Baird & Co. and Ropes & Gray were financial and legal advisors, respectively, to Stanadyne. XMS Capital Partners was financial advisor to Clarcor on the deal.

PE-backed Packaging Dynamics buys Pac Paper

Packaging Dynamics, a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company, has acquired Pac Paper. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Vancouver, Wash., Pac Paper is provider of paper packaging products for foodservice, food processing, agricultural and industrial applications.

The Singer sewing machine company, largely credited with helping develop the U.S. fashion industry by allowing clothes to be made more cheaply and efficiently, is exploring a sale that could fetch more than $500 million, three people familiar with the matter told sister news service Reuters.
