Latin American PE investing rose last year

Private equity and venture capital investing in Latin America climbed for a third straight year as fund managers put $8.9 billion to work in 234 deals last year, according to the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.

Latin American PE Fundraising Jumps In First Half

Fundraising by Latin American private equity and venture capital firms rose during the first half of the year to $3.8 billion, up about 100% from a year ago, according to the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. At the same time venture investments from international and Latin American firms in the region expanded to $151.9 million, an increase of 69%, the association said in a press release. Fifty-eight deals were funded.

Private Equity And VC Investing In Latin America Hits 5 Year High In 2012

Venture capital and private equity investing rose to a 5-year high across Latin America last year with firms putting $7.9 billion to work, a 21% increase over 2011. The data comes from the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, which found that 237 deals were done, an increase of 37% from a year ago.
