Marlin Equity Partners has acquired Verisae, a Minneapolis, MN-based provider of SaaS, cloud-based solutions. No financial terms were disclosed.

US private equity firm Marlin Equity Partners has acquired Vivonet, Inc., a Vancouver, British Columbia-based point of sale software and systems business for the restaurant industry. No financial terms were disclosed. Prior to Marlin Equity’s acquisition, Vivonet was venture-backed. Among the company’s Canadian investors since 2005 have been Discovery Capital Corp., Greenstone Venture Partners, Maxam Capital Corp. and Roynat Capital.

Marlin Equity Partners has acquired MicroSun Technologies, a Woodridge, IL-based designer of custom battery packs and energy storage solutions for portable electronics. MicroSun has been integrated with Palladium Energy, a Marlin portfolio company. No financial terms were disclosed.

Unwired Planet, formerly known as OpenWave Systems, said Wednesday that Mark Jensen was named to its board. Jensen was previously with Deloitte, where he was U.S. Managing Partner-Audit and Enterprise Risk Services, Technology Industry and a U.S. Managing Partner-Venture Capital Services Group. In April, Marlin Equity Partners the core service and messaging products businesses of Openwave.

Marlin Equity Partners has acquired ATC Drivetrain, an Oklahoma City, OK-based independent powertrain remanufacturer for light vehicles and medium- and heavy-duty trucks, from GENCO ATC.
