Schafer Corp. , a Metalmark Capital portfolio company, said Wednesday that Mark Andersson was named president and chief operating officer effective Jan. 1. Andersson recently served as COO of Applied Signal Technology.

Healogics, which is backed by Metalmark Capital, has hired David Miles as CFO and Craig Albright as EVP of marketing. Miles was most recently EVP and CFO of ResCare. Albright has served as the CEO of Gentiae Clinical Research and Free & Clear. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Healogics provides advanced wound care services.

New York buyout shop Metalmark Capital has acquired a majority stake in Glen Allen, Va.-based Bostwick Laboratories Inc., the firm announced Tuesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bostwick Laboratories is a provider of urologic anatomic pathology laboratory services. The Metalmark investment will help Bostwick with growth efforts and to expand development of its pathology laboratory services, which specialize in the monitoring and diagnosis of cancer.

National Healing Corp. and Diversified Clinical Services, both wound care management companies and both based in Florida, will merge. PE firm the Jordan Co. will relinquish its stake in Diversified Clinical Services as part of the transaction. Specifics on the deal were not provided. Moelis & Company and Jefferies & Company are serving as financial advisors to Diversified Clinical Services. SNR Denton US LLP and Hogan Lovells US LLP are serving as Diversified Clinical Services’ legal counsel.

Jones Energy Holdings, which is backed by private equity investor Metalmark Capital, has acquired all the producing properties owned by Southridge Energy LLC and Pablo Energy. The company has also entered into a joint venture with the two energy companies to develop the remaining undrilled locations on the properties. Financial terms of the deal were not released. Jones is an energy exploration and production company headquartered in Austin, Texas.

Jones Energy acquired certain oil and natural gas properties primarily in Ellis County, Okla. for of $33 million. The properties have a current daily production rate of 530 BOE and an incremental 6,700 MBOE attributable to identified drilling locations. Metalmark Capital made its initial investment in Jones Energy in December 2009.
