Digital Signal Corp., a developer of three-dimensional, long-range facial recognition software, has raised $10.3 million in fresh capital, according to a regulatory filing. In April, the company announced a $15 million funding round from investors including Columbia Capital, City Light Capital, SilverHaze Partners, Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Paladin Capital Group. Digital Signal is based in Chantilly, Va.

Vistaprint Buys VC-backed Webs for $117.5M

Vistaprint, the listed maker of professional marketing products and services, said it will acquire venture-backed Webs for $117.5 million. Webs is based in Silver Spring, Maryland, and has raised venture capital from Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Columbia Capital.

SolidFire Seals $25M

Boulder, Colo.-based SolidFire, a maker of all-solid-state primary storage systems for cloud service providers, has raised $25 million in a second financing round, bringing its total raised to $37 million. New Enterprise Associates, Valhalla Partners and Novak Biddle participated in the round. The company also received individual investments from Frank Slootman, former C.E.O. of Data Domain; David Schneider, former vice president of worldwide sales at Data Domain; and Greg Papadopoulos, former C.T.O. of Sun Microsystems.

FiberZone Networks Sews Up $12M Round

FiberZone Networks, a provides of automated fiber management products for datacenters, has closed on $12 million in new funding. S-Group Capital Management led the round, which included participation from return investor Novak Biddle Venture Partners.
