Secret Escapes, an online luxury travel club, has secured 8 million pounds ($12.9 million) of new funding. Index Ventures led the funding round with participation from existing investors Octopus Ventures and Atlas Venture. Torch Partners advised Secret Escapes on the fundraising.

Money Workout Ltd., a UK-based company that purchases and generates mortgage inquiries that it matches with available mortgage products, has raised £1.52 million in VC funding from Octopus Ventures.

GetOptics Ltd., a UK-based online provider of contact lens and eye care products, has raised £1.355 million from Octopus Ventures. The investment helps create GetOptics, via a merger of GetLenses and PostOptics.
