Safeguard Scientifics, a Wayne, Pa.-based investment company focused on technology and healthcare outfits, has provided $5 million of a new $6 million Series B round of financing raised by Pneuron Corp., a Woburn, Mass.-based company that sells large data integration software applications. Osage Venture Partners, a previous investor in Pneuron, contributed the remaining funding to the round.S

Milestone Venture Partners and Osage Venture Partners have backed Identropy, a maker of identity and access management software, to the tune of $4 million. The Series A round will support growth of the company’s cloud-based technology, and will be used to expand sales and marketing efforts. The start-up is based in Moonachie, New Jersey.
Arboretum Ventures and Flagship Ventures co-led a $4.5 million Series A round for medical device startup Tangent Medical Technologies Inc. Osage Ventures and several undisclosed angel investors also contributed. Tim Petersen of Arboretum and Harry Wilcox of Flagship have joined Tangent’s board.
FieldView Solutions, a maker of data center infrastructure management software, has closed on $2 million in fresh capital from SJF Ventures, Milestone Venture Partners and Osage Venture Partners. The money will help the company expand its development team, among other efforts. Edison, New Jersey-based Fieldview closed a $2.75 million Series A round in 2009.
