Rogers Ventures, the venture capital arm of Rogers Communications Inc., joined Panorama Capital in a US$15 million Series E financing of New York-based Zoove Corp., which operates StarStar and StarStarMe, a mobile phone number service. The company also received investment from Worldview Technology Partners and Highland Capital Partners. The new funds will support Zoove’s continued growth, with emphasis on product expansion, business development and marketing.

Zoove Corp, a provider of a unique mobile phone number for content has secured a $15 million from existing series D investors, Rogers Venture Partners and Panorama Capital. The company’s early stage investors, Worldview Technology Partners and Highland Capital also invested in the business.

Phizer is snapping up NextWave Pharmaceuticals—a company backed by a laundry list of investors including Panorama Capital, Bay City Capital, Kearny Venture Partners, Aisling Capital, Fidelity Biosciences, Sofinnova Ventures and Vivo Ventures. Under the terms of the deal, Pfizer will pay $255 million to NextWave’s shareholders at closing. NextWave’s shareholders are eligible to receive up to $425 million in additional money, based on sales milestones. NextWave closed a $45 million round last January.

The first closing of $10 million took place on October 4th, 2012 and was led by TeleSoft Partners, along with full participation from existing investors, including Crosslink Capital, Panorama Capital, Qualcomm Ventures and Venture Tech Associates.

Canadian e-tailer Beyond the Rack reeled in $36 million in VC bucks from investors Panorama Capital, the California VC that read the round, and other investors Export Development Canada, Tandem Expansion Fund, Rho Canada, Inovia Capital, Highland Capital Partners and BDC Capital.
