ValueClick Buys Greystripe for $70M

Publicly traded ValueClick will pay $70 million for mobile advertising network Greystripe Inc. San Francisco-based Greystripe has raised venture capital from firms including Steamboat Ventures, Monitor Ventures, Peacock Equity and Incubic Venture Capital. Montgomery & Co. acted as financial advisor to Greystripe. Under the terms of the deal, Greystripe’s management will join ValueClick, and the business will be run as a wholly-owned subsidiary within ValueClick Media.

Vivox Inc., a Framingham, Mass.-based provider of VoIP services for online games and virtual worlds, has raised $2 million from Peacock Equity. The company previously raised around $20.6 million from Benchmark Capital, Canaan Partners, Grandbanks Capital and IDG Ventures San Francisco.

Peacock Equity, a joint investment fund of GE Capital and NBC Universal, has named two new board members: Lauren Zalaznick, president of NBC Universal Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks, and Jessica Schell, senior vice president, NBC Universal Digital Strategy and Business Development. In related news, Ben Silverman is leaving the board, after recently announcing his resignation from NBCU.

EveryZing Raises $8.25 Million

EveryZing Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based multimedia search and advertising platform, has raised $8.25 million in Series C funding. Peacock Equity Fund led the round, as part of a larger strategic agreement between EveryZing and NBC Universal. Return backers included Fairhaven Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Accel Partners and BBN Technologies.
