Daily fantasy sports game operator FanDuel has closed $11 million in Series C financing from new investor Comcast Ventures, existing investors Piton Capital, Pentech Ventures, Bullpen Capital and serial investor Richard Koch. Andrew Cleland, a partner at Comcast Ventures has joined FanDuel’s board.

Semetric, a global data analytics business, has secured 3 million pounds ($4.7 million) from Imperial Innovations Group and existing investor Pentech Ventures. It follows previous investments totalling 1.7 million pounds.

Information security company CertiVox raised $2.4 million in Series A financing from UK-based investors Octopus Investments and Pentech Ventures. Luke Hakes, a principal at Octopus Investments, will join the CertiVox board. The company will use the funding to expand its development team, and bring to market its certificateless encryption as a service platform.

Growth equity and venture firm Scottish Equity Partners led a 5 million pound ($8 million) investment in Metaforic, a software start-up based in Glasgow, Scottland, and California. The company is developing security software to combat piracy and hacker attacks. Pentech Ventures and the Scottish Investment Bank’s Scottish Venture Fund also contributed to the round, which will help the company expand sales and marketing.

Information security start-up CertiVox has raised 900,000 pounds ($1.46 million) in Series A financing. Pentech Ventures led the round, with participation from UK-based Octopus Investments. The new money will help San Francisco-based CertiVox continue development of its management infrastructure platform.

London-based data storage start-up Acunu has closed on 2.2 million pounds ($3.6 million) in Series A financing. The company will use the new funds to launch its first product, the Acunu Storage Platform. Eden Ventures, Oxford Technology Management, Pentech Ventures LLP and the European Investment Fund contributed to the found. Acunu was formed in 2009.
