Elevation Resources said Friday it obtained a $400 million line of equity financing from an investor group led by Pine Brook. Midland, Texas-based Elevation focuses on acquisition, leasing, exploration and development activities on the Permian Basin.

Pine Brook has named Kristin Gilbert as principal on the financial services investment team. Gilbert, an investment professional with nine years of experience, joined Pine Brook’s financial services team in March 2010.

The Oregon Investment Council, one of the nation’s largest private equity investors, committed $400 million across five funds since its previous meeting, according to the meeting minutes and the council’s spokesman, James Sinks. The new commitments are the first under the council’s new chief investment officer, John Skjervem, who began the job in November.

New York-based investment firm Pine Brook, has appointed Andre Burba as managing director on the energy investment team. Burba joined Pine Brook in 2008 as a principal with the energy team.
