Shasta Ventures is strengthening its enterprise practice by bring in Jayaram Bhat as an entrepreneur in residence and Issac Roth as a venture advisor. Both have worked with the firm before. Bhat was CEO of Shasta-funded Zenprise, acquired by Citrix Systems, and Roth co-founded Makara, which Red Hat acquired.

Appcelerator, a Mountain View, Calif.-based mobile platform company, is acquiring Cocoafish, a so-called cloud service that lets developers build top network features into mobile apps without writing any server code. Appcelerator, maker of a development platform for mobile web applications, has raised $15 million in a third round led by Mayfield Fund, Translink Capital and Red Hat. Existing investors eBay Inc., Sierra Ventures and Storm Ventures also participated. The company, based in Mountain View, Calif., has now raised a total of $31.5 million. The latest infusion will be used for international expansion and continued development of the company’s mobile development platform.

Jaspersoft, a maker of business intelligence software, has inked $11 million in a round of venture capital led by Red Hat and SAP Ventures. New investor Quest Software joined in the round, which also included participation from existing shareholders Doll Capital Management, Morgenthaler Ventures, Partech International, Scale Venture Partners, and Adams Street Partners. The money will be used for expansion and potential acquisitions. Jaspersoft is based in San Francisco.
