VC-backed Moogsoft hires CMO

Moogsoft has named Rob Markovich as chief marketing officer. Previously, Markovich worked at VSS Monitoring where he served as a senior vice president. Based in San Francisco, Moogsoft provides collaborative situation management for web-scale IT operations. Its backers include Wing Venture Capital and Redpoint Ventures.


Lastline picks up $10 mln

Lastline has secured $10 million in funding. The investors were Dell Ventures, Presidio Ventures, Redpoint Ventures and e.ventures. Headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., Lastline is a malware defense platform provider.


Electric Imp scores $15 mln Series B

Electric Imp said Wednesday that it has secured $15 million in Series B funding. The investors were Foxconn Technology Group, PTI Ventures, Rampart Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Hugo Fiennes, CEO and co-founder of Electric Imp. Based in Los Altos, Calif. and Cambridge, England, Electric Imp is a platform that connects devices to the internet.


Axial racks up $11 mln Series B

Axial said Tuesday that it has secured $11 million in Series B funding. Comcast Ventures led the round with participation from previous backers Redpoint Ventures and First Round. Headquartered in New York City, Axial is a professional network comprised of members who run, advise and fund private firms.


Redpoint backs cloud company Platform9

Platform9, founded by a group of virtualization experts who previously were with VMware, announced that it has raised $4.5 million in Series A funding from Redpoint Ventures. The Sunnyvale, California-based company, which provides datacenter management technology, also came out of stealth mode today. As part of the funding, Redpoint Ventures Partner Satish Dharmaraj has joined the board.

Wing Venture leads Series B funding of Moogsoft

Moogsoft, which provides service assurance software to help companies detect anomalies in online traffic, announced it has raised $11.3 million in Series B funding. Wing Venture Capital, a new investor, led the round, which also included returning investor Redpoint Ventures. The San Francisco-based company has now raised about $18 million in total funding. As part of the latest round, Peter Wagner, founding partner of Wing Venture Capital, has joined the board.


Intent Media nets $22.7 mln Series C

Intent Media said Monday that it has raised $22.7 million in Series C financing. Insight Venture Partners led the round with participation from previous backers Matrix Partners and Redpoint Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Bradley Twohig of Insight Venture Partners has been added to Intent Media’s board. Based in New York, Intent Media is a provider of intelligent advertising solutions for travel firms.


Job-matching platform Jobr rakes in $2 mln

According to a blog post on its site, Jobr, a job-matching platform, has raised $2 million in seed funding. The investors included Lerer Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Eniac Ventures, Lowercase Capital, The Hive, Tekton Ventures, Structure Capital, Tim Draper and Fabrice Grinda. Salesforce.com to buy VC-backed RelateIQ

According to an announcement on its site, RelateIQ will be acquired by Salesforce.com. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., RelateIQ is a provider of solutions that improve business relationships. MapR Technologies scores $110 mln

MapR Technologies, a Hadoop technology company based in San Jose, Calif., has closed $110 million in financing. Google Capital led the round with participation from Qualcomm Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, NEA and Redpoint Ventures. In addition to the equity financing, MapR has raised $30 million in debt financing led by Silicon Valley Bank.

Tastemade snags $25 mln Series C

Santa Monica, Calif.-based digital media startup Tastemade said Thursday that it has raised $25 million in Series C funding. Scripps Networks Interactive led the round with participation from Liberty Media, Redpoint Ventures, Raine Ventures and Comcast Ventures.
