Twilio Rings Up $70M Round

Cloud communications company Twilio has raised a $70 million Series D round co-led by Redpoint Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners, with Draper Fisher Jurvetson also participating. As part of the deal, Scott Raney, a partner with Redpoint, has joined the board. The San Francisco-based company has now raised about $103 million n total funding.

Scripted.com Raises $4.5M In Crosslink & Redpoint Led Deal

Scripted.com said it raised $4.5 million in a Series A financing led by Crosslink Capital and Redpoint Ventures. Joining the round are James Currier and Stan Chudnovsky from Ooga Labs, Branchout CEO Rick Marini, Bebo co-founder Michael Birch, Military.com co-founder Chris Michel and LA angel Paige Craig. Chris Moore from Redpoint Ventures and Eric Chin from Crosslink Capital will be join the board.

Redpoint Adds Two EIRs From VMware

Redpoint Ventures brought on two VMware executives as entrepreneurs in residence, TechCrunch reports. Javier Soltero was CTO of SaaS & application services at VMware before joining the firm, according to a bio posted on the Redpoint Web site. He came to VMware after the company he co-founded, Hyperic, was acquired by SpringSource, which was acquired by VMware.

Workspot Raises $1.9M From Kleiner, Norwest, Redpoint, Others

Workspot said it raised $1.9 million of seed funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and angel investors, including Peter Wagner and Gaurav Garg. The company also launched a bring-your-own-mobile-device service for IT administrators, Workspot Control, and a mobile application for IPads, called Workspot.

Infer Raises $10M From Redpoint, Andreessen, Sutter Hill, Others

Austin, Redpoint Invest $8M in Bloomfire

The file sharing and collaboration software developer Bloomfire has raised $8 million from return investors Austin Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. The two firms invested $10 million in the company in March 2012.

Big Switch Networks Adds Intel Capital As An Investor

Big Switch Networks said that Intel Capital has joined the company’s Series B funding, bringing the total raised to date to over $45 million. Big Switch investors include Goldman Sachs, Index Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. The company initially announced a Series B of $25 million in October with Redpoint leading the deal. It raised a Series A round of $14 million in 2011.

Bluefin Labs joins Twitter

Social TV analytics business Bluefin Labs has joined Twitter. Last year, Bluefin Labs raised $12 million in a Series B round led by Time Warner Investments with participation from SoftBank Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Lerer Ventures.
