GetGlue Raises $12M From Rho, Union Square, Others

GetGlue said in a blog post it closed a $12 million round of financing led by Rho Ventures and joined by existing investors TimeWarner Investments, RRE Ventures, and Union Square Ventures. BuzzFeed Inks $15.5M

BuzzFeed has sealed $15.5 million from investors including New Enterprise Associates, Lerer Ventures, Hearst Media, Softbank and RRE Ventures. NEA and Lerer led the round. As a result of the round, Patrick Kerins, a general partner at NEA will join BuzzFeed’s board. Kenneth Lerer, manager of Lerer Ventures and co-founder of The Huffington Post, will expand his role, becoming executive chairman.

BestVendor Closes $3M Series A

BestVendor has closed a $3 million Series A round co-led by RRE Ventures and SoftBank Capital. Additional investors include Lerer Ventures, who invested in the company’s seed round, along with David Tisch, Founder Collective and Old Willow Partners, the company announced Tuesday. New York-based BestVendor is an online resources where users share and recommend work-related applications.

SideTour Gets $1.5M Round

SideTour, which just emerged from stealth mode after being founded this summer, has raised $1.5 million from VCs including Foundry Group and RRE Ventures. Founders include Vipin Goyal, CEO, Aaron Foss, Minesh Mistry and Mark Webster. Unlike most daily deal sites, SideTour seeks to provide its client base with off-the-beaten-path, more unique retail and dining experiences. SideTour is part of the TechStars incubator program.

Waste Management, the Texas-based sanitation and recycling company, has made a strategic investment in Recycle Rewards, and its subsidiary, Recyclebank, which tethers discounts to green “action” by consumers. With the investment, from which terms were not specified, Waste Management joins existing Recyclebank investors RRE Ventures, Sigma Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers, The Westly Group, Generation Investment Management, Top Tier Capital Partners, Physic Ventures and Craton Equity Partners.

Affinity China Closes $600,000 Seed Round

Affinity China, a loyalty, reward and lifestyle network for Chinese traveling overseas, has raised $600,000 in seed financing from venture firms RRE Ventures and 500 Startups as well as from strategic investor Loeb Enterprises. The company launched a private beta version of its platform earlier this year, aiming to tap into China’s $26 billion luxury market. Members can access a variety of offers ranging from receptions with sports stars to weekends in the Hamptons and other locations.

SinglePlatform Adds $3.25M in VC

SinglePlatform has sealed $3.25 million in venture financing from DFJ Gotham Ventures, New World Ventures, First Round Capital and RRE Ventures. The company, which makes a digital portal for local businesses to manage their web presence, integrating their websites and social media, previously raised $1.2 million.
