S.B. Israel Telecom Ltd, an affiliate of Saban Capital Group, has closed its purchase of the controlling interest in Partner Communications Company from Scailex Corporation. Partner is a provider of communications services in Israel, including cellular, Internet and fixed telephony. The transaction includes the assumption of debt owed by Scailex to Advent Investments Pte, a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa Limited.

Saban Capital Group has opened an office in Hong Kong led by Sumeet Jaisinghani. He has relocated from Los Angeles and will work to expand the firm’s investment activities in Asia.
