European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital is to buy Ipes, a provider of fund administration and outsourcing services to the private equity industry, from RJD Partners. The deal is valued at 50 million pounds ($76.5 million).

European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital has promoted three of its investment team. Mark Piasecki, who is based in London, has been promoted to principal. Robert Knight, also based in London, and Cyril Bourdarot who is based in Paris, have become investment executives.

London-based private equity firm Silverfleet Capital has agreed a majority investment with Aesica Pharmaceuticals replacing that of LDC. Members of Aesica’s executive team will reinvest a significant amount of money for a large minority stake. Debt is being provided by Lloyds, HSBC and Yorkshire Bank.Headquartered near Newcastle, UK, Aesica has the expertise to both develop and manufacture primary (API) and secondary stage (finished product dosage forms) pharmaceuticals.

Buyout shop GTCR has completed its acquisition of Sterigenics International Inc., a provider of contract sterilization and ionization services for medical devices, food products and other applications. The firm bought Oak Brook, Illinois-based Sterigenics from Silverfleet Capital and PPM America Capital Partners. Terms were not released. Jefferies & Company, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS advised GTCR on the transaction.

(Reuters) – Private equity firm Silverfleet Capital is seeking to sell Sterigenics, the Chicago-based firm whose gamma-ray sterilisation technology is used by medical device makers, sources familiar with the situation said on Thursday.
Silverfleet is hoping the business, which it bought in 2004, will fetch about $800 million and expects it will attract interest from private equity firms and trade bidders, the sources said.
Silverfleet declined comment. Sterigenics’s listed competitors include Steris Corp (STE.N) and Canada’s MDS Nordion (MDS.TO).
