Heyday app launches, reveals $2 mln in seed funding

Heyday, which makes a photo journal app for the iOS platform, officially launched today. The San Francisco-based company, which was founded last year, told peHUB that it raised $2 million in seed funding, all of which was raised in July 2012. Investors include Google Ventures, Spark Capital, TriplePoint Capital, CrunchFund, SV Angel and individual investors Shervin Pishevar, Keith Rabois, Garry Tan, Matt Ocko, Robin Chan, Kevin Chou, David Spector, Amitt Mahajan, Joel Poloney, Ben Narasin, Eric Ries, Saad Khan, Charles Moldow and Roy Sehgal.

Floral marketplace provider BloomNation raises $1.65 mln

Los Angeles-based BloomNation raised $1.65 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, Chicago Ventures, CrunchFund and MuckerLab. BloomNation, which operates an online marketplace for florists nationwide, is a graduate of MuckerLab, a Los Angeles-based accelerator.

Qriously Raises $3.5M From Spark, Accel

Qriously said it raised $3.5 million in a Series A round led by Spark Capital and joined by Accel Partners. The company’s new product, asQvertising lets consumers self-select mobile advertisements by answering basic questions on their smartphones.

Reuters – Spark Capital Raises $450m Fund

Spark Capital raised $450 million for its fourth fund, making it the largest round for the Boston-based firm, writes Reuters. Spark, which has invested in consumer Internet companies like Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare, will tap this fund to expand into other sectors like financial services, healthcare and education.

Wayfair.com said it raised $36.3 million in equity financing from Battery Ventures, Great Hill Partners, HarbourVest Partners and Spark Capital. The money will be used to grow Joss & Main, the company’s private sale site for the home. The site has nearly three million members and is operating at a $100 million annual revenue run-rate.

Lift Closes Series A Led by Spark Capital

Personal motivational mobile app Lift has closed a Series A round of funding led by Bijan Sabet at Spark Capital. Also, earlier this year the business extended its seed investment from Obvious to include three angels.
