(Reuters) – Two of Twitter’s earliest investors have left the company’s board of directors, the latest change to the fast-growing social media company’s leadership.

Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures and Bijan Sabet of Spark Capital are no longer on Twitter’s board, the company said on Friday.

The departures were first reported on the technology blog AllThingsD.com.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the change.

Twitter does not plan to appoint new directors to replace Wilson and Sabet, a source familiar with the matter said.

Social Investing Network Covestor Inks $4M Round

Covestor, a social networking company focused on personal investing, has sealed $4 million in fresh capital, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Formed in 2008, the company previously raised around $3.6 million from investors including Union Square, Spark Capital and Amadeus Capital. The company’s board includes Spark Capital’s Todd Dagres; Ann Glover of Amadeus Capital; and Albert Wenger from Union Square Ventures.

Tumblr Close to Raising $75M-$100M

Blogging service Tumblr is close to raising between $75 million and $100 million in new venture capital financing, Reuters reported Friday, citing news in the Wall Street Journal. Greylock Partners is reportedly one of the firms joining in the round. Spark Capital, Union Square Ventures, and Sequoia Capital are among the current investors in Tumblr.
