Spark Capital leads Series A round for Storefront

Storefront said Monday that it has closed $7.3 million in Series A funding. Spark Capital led the round with participation from investors that included Mohr Davidow Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, 500 Startups, Box Group, SV Angel and Vikram Pandit. In addition to the funding, Mo Koyfman has been added to Storefront’s board. Storefront is an online marketplace that helps designers and artists find retail space to sell their products.

SmartAsset said Tuesday that it has raised $5.2 million in Series A financing. Javelin Venture Partners led the round with participation from investors that included Denis Grosz, SV Angel and Brendan Wallace, founder of Identified. Based in New York, SmartAsset is a tech platform that provides answers to financial questions.

Heyday app launches, reveals $2 mln in seed funding

Heyday, which makes a photo journal app for the iOS platform, officially launched today. The San Francisco-based company, which was founded last year, told peHUB that it raised $2 million in seed funding, all of which was raised in July 2012. Investors include Google Ventures, Spark Capital, TriplePoint Capital, CrunchFund, SV Angel and individual investors Shervin Pishevar, Keith Rabois, Garry Tan, Matt Ocko, Robin Chan, Kevin Chou, David Spector, Amitt Mahajan, Joel Poloney, Ben Narasin, Eric Ries, Saad Khan, Charles Moldow and Roy Sehgal.

usermind raises oversubscribed Series A

Enterprise startup usermind has raised $7.6 million in an oversubscribed Series A round of financing led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Charles River Ventures and SV Angel. Co-founded in May 2013 by enterprise technology veterans Michel Feaster (CEO) and Przemek Pardyak (CTO), usermind will use the funding to advance product development and expand the company’s Seattle-based headquarters.

Venture Investing Climbs in the Second Quarter

Venture capitalists distributed $8.1 billion to startups in the second quarter, an increase over the previous three quarters, but down from a year ago, according to PitchBook. The deal count also declined from the second quarter of last year.

Inadco Raises $11M From USVP, Redpoint

Inadco, Inc. said it raised $11 million in a Series B round led by U.S. Venture Partners and joined by existing investor Redpoint Ventures. The company had previously raised a $5 million Series A round from Redpoint, SV Angel, Mike Walrath, former CEO of Right Media, and Matt Coffin, founder of LowerMyBills.com.

MessageMe Raises $10M From Greylock, Others

MessageMe said it raised $10 million in a deal led by Greylock Partners. The round was joined by previous investors, the company said in a blog post. The company received a seed investment in March from True Ventures, First Round Capital, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Resolut.vc, Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock and The Social+Capital Partnership. The company had previously received angel money.
