AVG Technologies Prices IPO at $16/Share

AVG Technologies, the anti-virus software company backed by Intel Capital, Grisoft Holdings and private equity firm TA Associates, has priced its initial public offering at $16 per share, Reuters reported Wednesday. The company, which competes with Symantec and McAfee, was expecting to price its IPO of 8 million shares between $16 and $18 a share.

InfoSpace said Tuesday that it has closed its buy of TaxACT. The deal was valued at $287.5 million. TA Associates owned a majority stake. Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based TaxACT provides online tax solutions.

TA Associates Realty has acquired the America’s Gateway portfolio, a four-building distribution warehouse portfolio in Miami, for just over $19 million. Anti-virus software maker AVG Technologies said that it would sell 8 million shares at $16 to $18 apiece in its initial public offering, Reuters reported Tuesday. The company filed last week for an IPO. AVG Technologies is backed by investors including Intel Capital, Grisoft Holdings and TA Associates.

TA Associates has sold Microban to W.M. Barr. Financial terms weren’t announced. Microban supplies antimicrobial product protection. News of the sale was disclosed by the Valence Group which advised TA Associates in the sale.
