O’Reilly AlphTech Ventures, or OATV, has secured $84.5 million for a third fund, according to an SEC filing that was processed this morning. The filing states that 51 investors have participated in the fund, and that it intends to raise another $450,000, which will bring its total funding to $85 million.

Concur Technologies Inc. on Thursday announced it would buy travel site TripIt Inc. in a deal that could reach $120 million and bring a handsome return to its largest shareholder, Azure Capital Partners. “I’ve thought about writing a blog. I’ve thought a lot about it, but that’s not really me,” said Mike Kwatinetz, dipping into an omelet yesterday at Bob’s Steak & Chop House, an old-school San Francisco eatery. “I can’t help but feel there are better uses of my time.”
The sentiment wasn’t surprising coming from Kwatinetz, who co-founded the tech-focused venture firm Azure Capital Partners in 2000 with several other former investment bankers, all of whom once reported to star banker Frank Quattrone.
Azure does much the old-fashioned way. You’d never find Kwatinetz in a hoodie, for example. He uses a Blackberry. And though Azure’s deal size varies considerably

TripIt, a San Francisco-based provider of a platform that lets individuals and businesses organize and share their travel plans, has raised $7 million in Series C funding co-led by Azure Capital Partners and return backer OATV. The company had previously raised $6.1 million, including a $5.1 Series B million round from OATV, Sabre Holdings and Europeean Founders Fund.
